Beaver Creek Golf Course
A favorite for locals, Beaver Creek is a nine-hole golf course that is ideal for the leisurely golfer. This course is located just minutes away from Dobson, Elkin, and Pilot Mountain.
Historic Rockford
The Village (ca. 1797-1900) was once the seat of government for Surry County when it encompassed modern day Forsyth, Stokes, and Yadkin counties. There are a number of historical buildings that can be visited which house a number of establishments, such as the Rockford General Store, a canoe and kayak outfitter, a North Carolina Civil War Trail site, the Rockford Inn, Rockford Park, and the old Rockford Methodist Church.

They run from forts Fisher and Macon, at the Atlantic coast to the western mountains of North Carolina. Within Surry, there are three designated civil war sites, one at the York Tavern in Rockford, one in downtown Elkin, and one located at the Battle of Siloam site along the Yadkin River.

Cody Creek
Located just south of Dobson, Cody Creek is a rustic, stylish destination featuring The Depot Restaurant, the Cody Creek General Store, The Cabins at Cody Creek, and The Wedding Chapel at Cody Creek.
Delayed Harvest Trout Fishing, Mitchell River
The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission's delayed harvest program is a popular trout program in NC. By delaying harvest of trout stocked in certain bodies of water. The river is stocked with brook, rainbow, and brown trout from March-May, also in October and November. Delayed harvest fishing is accessible in the Mitchell River near Kapps Mill along River Road; use the Surry County Four Rivers Map as a reference.
Mitchell River Game Land
This 1,716-acre game land is located in western Surry County, incorporating a portion of Little Mountain and more than nine miles of Mitchell River tributaries, including Mill Creek. Managed for wildlife, water quality, and public access, the Mitchell River Game Land is currently open for hunting and fishing. Yadkin River Adventures
This attraction is located in the Village of Rockford along the Yadkin River and provides equipment and transportation for paddle excursions.
Herrera Vineyards (re-opening in 2012)
Boasting one of the oldest vineyards in the Yadkin Valley, Herrera is located on the banks of the Fisher River near Dobson. The site features a tasting room and the Herrera Vines Restaurant and Bar.
Hutton Vineyards
Located in the Rockford community, this is one of Surry's largest vineyards. Sample wines in their tasting room located in a former tobacco barn.
Shelton Vineyards
Shelton Vineyards is the largest family-owned estate winery in North Carolina. The facility boasts the Harvest Grill Restaurant, tasting bar, gift shop, and picnic areas. Special events include summer concerts at the amphitheatre and the Harvest Festival.
Stony Knoll Vineyards
Located minutes away from Historic Rockford and the Yadkin River, this family owned vineyard is located on a North Carolina Century Farm founded in 1896. Relax in the tasting room overlooking their designer vineyard.
